Get Ready for Gym At Home!

by | Apr 29, 2021 | News | 0 comments

YMCA is now offering a new membership for those who like the flexibility of sweating it out at home.

Throughout lockdown, the YMCA gym team used whatever device they had available and began filming home workouts to share with gym members. Since then, these homemade, amateur workout videos have evolved into a huge library of professional digital classes along with regular live classes which can also be streamed via zoom for existing members.

With some restrictions still in place, having the convenience of pumping some iron in the living room has seen these classes become more and more popular over the past few months, so YMCA has created a new product called ‘Gym At Home,’ which will officially launch from May 17th.

Gym At Home offers a huge range of classes which are updated every week and taught by some of the most enthusiastic instructors in North Tyneside. One Gym At Home member said: ”The instructors really do take the home workout experience to another level. The music makes you want to get up and dance and the team hit every beat on time. I never run out of classes to choose from and always feel like I’ve had an amazing workout without ever having to leave the house!”

All the classes you expect to attend when visiting the gym are available online and can be watched any time when you sign up, making it more convenient than ever to squeeze in a workout around a busy schedule. There’s no commuting to and from the gym and you can even get the family to participate!

How Do I Get Involved?

Gym at home is available to anyone looking to improve their health and wellbeing. All you need to access the workouts is a device such as a computer, phone or tablet connected to the internet and you can sign up at any time. If you don’t have access to the internet for any reason, we can find an alternative way to get our home workouts to you.

Existing gym members can sign up to Gym at Home for just £2.95 in addition to their current monthly gym membership fee with the option to cancel at any time. If you don’t plan on using the gym facilities and just want to access classes digitally, you can sign up for Gym At Home for just £7.95 a month, also with the flexibility of cancelling at any time.

Each Gym At Home membership contributes to YMCA’s charitable outcomes, so as well as getting your regular exercise fix from local, experienced instructors, you’re also helping transform the lives of vulnerable young people in North Tyneside.
